    Kenedie

This is my friend Kenedie. =] We bought sarongs this summer at the flea market, and she wanted to do photos wearing hers. The headdress she is wearing is mine; I got it from the county fair oddly enough, and it is hand-made and extremely delicate. I'm not great with the camera so be kind, please. =]

Hi! We got some blackberry candy corn on Halloween, and still had some left over, so I decided to take some pictures. I'm a big fan of macro photography, so I tried to do the best I could.

& also, available for preorder, Caketrain issue 07

J.A. Tyler’s teeth still unmarked white, Carol Novack’s pretty pink mouth and porky pink tongue, Sarah Norek’s hair slipping from her skull, a welt carved into Roxanne Carter’s thigh, Alec Niedenthal’s ghostly neck and chin, Matthew Curry’s inside-out torso: the seventh presents a bony, bodily form, a disembodied head above its siblings, and we are powerless to thwart its fleshly will. There are other things, survivors: Darby Larson brings ducks and story-doings, Margaret Frozena and St. Teresa of Ávila begin a duel that gives way to a duet, Matthew Derby wields this rake-like thing—but these bodies, strewn all over the issue, often dismembered, dislocated but ever-ambulant—hover still, cloud a land denuded, peopled.

    I love old things!
    Hello.

This is my first entry ever, on Live Journal.
What do I think about 'obselitism'?
    I think it's GREAT!

I have some old things at home, and I love them! I'm even starting a camera collection.
I have a turntable, some vinyls (33's and 45's), some 8 tracks, and some tube amps and radios.

I like to mix old technology with newer ones. Wish I could listen to my Ipod on my old 'Stromberg Carlson' AM radio! Project to come someday!
     - Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Quebec!

    Ciao!!

    check out this corsetiere!
A while back, I ordered a corset from Sweet Carousel. The idea was that I was going to replace my Puimond corset eventually (the magenta Asian brocade that I posted for sale a few weeks back, and is now on the way to Denmark). It is in the same silk brocade, but the pattern is a bit longer and has more of a sweetheart shape to the bust.

Well, after a few months, Elise from Sweet Carousel sent me a corset that is, frankly, one of the best-fitting corsets I've ever had the privilege of wearing. It is a standard sized corset, however it feels as though it was made exactly for my measurements all the way around in every way. The hips, the bust, the length (which is always a problem with me unless it's customized completely)- perfect. I have a high amount of squish, so I can lace down at least 8 inches. In this corset, it was smooth as butter in lacing down. I almost couldn't believe it. :D

I wore the beauty for two and a half hours around the house. Yay for comfort!

As of yet, I do not have photos. I tried taking some pictures, but they just didn't do it justice. I'll have to wait until I get back into town to photograph it well. :D

I posted about this in my journal... but I felt like posting here... Just to share... I don't know why. I'm going tonight, to a dinner organised by the publisher I work for as a childrens book illustrator...

When they called to ask if I'd participate or not to the dinner they organise, I first thought the publishing coordinator who's about my age, would be there so that even if I don't know / get to talk anyone else, there would be her to talk to. She's a nice woman who makes me feel ok and I have an easy communication with her. Then...  I learned she's not working there anymore.

So full of questions LOL ... I'll be going... but I'm EXTREMELY afraid of speding a very boring night with people who won't talk to me and so on.

I don't even exactly know if we're "invited", or if everyone will pay his her share. And I don't know how to manage to get to understand that without being silly.

I'm out of the door in half an hour wish me luck LOL

    First Post
Hi!  I'm Kristen, am 30 yr. old, and highly suspect I may have Asperger's.  When I was 10, my grandmother took me to a psychiatrist and he said that I had an unspecified learning disability, was EXTREMELY shy, and was behind developmentally (I was more like a 7 yr. old than a 10 yr. old).  I didn't get to see my grandmother for more than a few times a year, so never went back, and my parents never cared to bother with it.  But I've spent the past couple of years searching for what's wrong with me and even considered bi-polar for the emotional swings, until I started reading about Asperger's.  And, boy, do I have a lot of the symptoms:

    1. Face-blind: Thank god it's not just me.  I didn't even recognize my own sister once.
    2. Poor memory: Memories of my childhood-and of yesterday-are very spotty.
    3. Poor motor skills: I am so clumsy and uncoordinated.  You should see me try to sweep a floor.
    4. Poor social skills: I spent my childhood made fun of, no matter that I went to over 40 schools by the time I was 15 (no, my parents were not in the military).
    5. Eye contact: I find it very hard to look at people's faces and a lot of the times find myself looking in completely the opposite direction, 'cause I can't bear to look at them.
    6. I'm terrible at taking care of myself as an adult and have just moved away from home, with a friend as a roommate.
There's other, smaller things, but these are, I think, the worst.

I want to go to a doctor for confirmation, but should I just pick a psychiatrist/psychologist from the phone book and ask about it or is there something specific I should do or look for?  The confirmation is mainly because people tend to brush me off when I say I have a bad memory or act as if I can just get over shyness with a snap of my fingers-I just have this gut feeling that it's something more.

And one question which bothers me: I hate being touched and especially hate touching other people.  Is this a symptom, too, or is it just me?  I realize that it could be because of a couple of, um, incidents in my childhood but I don't know...

    Thank you.

    Wee hour thoughts!
Hello! These days and nights of mine have been full of musings, thoughts, self-reflections, wise words from cherished ones, and music. No matter what is happening in my life, there is always music attached as if it were tangible! There is a specific song that is haunting me tonight, and has appeared from time to time in the last weeks, in and out. Moments call for certain songs. I can't explain it, but I'm sure a few of you would understand.

Now the dark air is like fire on my skin and even the moonlight is blindin.'  )
